📋 Overview

Nāgarika Dhvani is a civic reporting platform that allows Bengaluru citizens to report civic and traffic issues directly to authorities via X (formerly Twitter).

🔒 Data Privacy

We Do NOT Store Your Data

• No user data collection: We do not collect, store, or retain any personal information, user accounts, or identifiable data.
• No image storage: Photos you upload are processed in your browser and posted directly to X. We do not store images on our servers.
• No location tracking: GPS coordinates are extracted from your photos or selected on the map, used only for the report, and not stored by us.
• AI processing: Face detection and blurring (for traffic reports) happens in your browser using client-side AI before transmission. After face blurring, images are sent to AWS Rekognition for content moderation to prevent misuse. Text descriptions are analyzed using AWS Comprehend to prevent abusive language. These AWS services process data transiently for moderation purposes only and do not retain your content.

📸 Public Posting

Important: When you submit a report:

• Your image and location details are posted publicly on X (formerly Twitter)
• The post is accessible to anyone on the internet
• Posts are tagged with relevant authorities (@zenc_civic, @BlrCityPolice)
• Once posted, the content is governed by X's terms and privacy policy

🍪 Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser local storage only for:

• Theme preference (light/dark mode)
• Language preference (English/Kannada)

No tracking cookies or analytics are used.

✅ User Consent

By using Nāgarika Dhvani, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Images and location data you submit will be posted publicly on X
• You have the right to photograph and share the reported issue
• You will not post images containing sensitive personal information
• Face blurring (for traffic reports) is provided as a privacy feature, but you are responsible for the content you post

🛡️ Security

• All connections use HTTPS encryption
• Image compression and face detection happen in your browser
• API calls to X are made securely through our gateway

⚖️ Liability

Nāgarika Dhvani is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not responsible for:

• Response times or actions taken by authorities
• Content posted by users
• Third-party services (X platform, map providers)
